No 197. A fine Atmos clock, nickel case, by Jean-Léon Reutter, No 3615, France ca. 1930. Nickel case, transparency through the four glasses, white enamelled dial and Roman chapters. With the original Atmos clockwork. Mercury- and gas volume fluctuates under the changing weather conditions, in particular temperature. This generates continuously the power for the movement and therefore this clock is called a Pendule Perpétuelle. The invention was made by a French engineer Jean Leon Reutter. The clock is signed: Pendule Perpétuelle, Brevets J.L. Reutter. No 3615 on the back.
