SOLD A very fine cloisonné travelling clock, grande sonnerie on two gongs, moon phase, day and date display, alarm, signed Muiron & Cie, ca 1880. Made in France for the Latin American market. This explains the indications on the clock in Spanish like Grande Campomeo (grande sonnerie) Petite Campaneo (petite sonnerie) Silencio. Made circa 1880 and signed on the dial Muiron & Cie. Amazing elaborated enamel work on the case, with for Corinthian columns, faceted glass case, gilt brass case with cloisonné decorations. The flower and leave decorations in the front panel on a blue background, executed in the cloisonné decoration technique. A blue coloured moon phase subsidiary with pained clouds. Spring-driven eight day movement with anchor escapement. Three subsidiary dials for the day, the alarm setting time, the date. On the bottom: handle to switch between grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie and silence. All enamel work is beautifully executed and undamaged.
