Gilded case, transparency through the five bevelled glass panels, white enamelled dial and Roman numerals, Breguet hands. An Atmos Pendule Perpétuelle, no 447, by J. L. Reutter. With the original Atmos clockwork. The original gilding in an excellent state. Clockwork mechanism: In a mercury- and gas tube, the volumes changes under the weather conditions, in particular temperature. This generates a thermic in the barrel and takes care to drive the movement continuously. It is therefore called ‘Pendule Perpétuelle’. The invention was made by a French engineer, Jean Léon Reutter.
