No 200 Very attractive mantel clock with four glasses, Brocots perpetual calendar, signed J. Silvani, Brighton, circa 1860. Very eminent mantel clock with Brocots perpetual calendar. The case with four bevelled glasses set in gilt bronze frames, white marble base and top. A gilt dial mask with decorative foliate engraving, the white enamel clock dial with Arabic seconds, open escapement, and subsidiary dial showing the hours and minutes, and lower full calendar dial displaying the day, date, and month, as well as phases of the moon, 8 day movement with Brocot escapement central sweep second hands, Ellicott compensated pendulum. Signed and numbered on the backplate J.Silvani, 13 & 14 Kings Road, Brighton and the number 194466. It is known that the Brocot & Delettrez company in Paris made this type of mantel clock for J.
